More recent versions of Microsoft Word can create and open the following types of files:
Paragraph Alignment
-
Paragraph alignment determines how the lines in a paragraph more appear in relation to the left and right margins.
-
The margin is the blank space between the edge of the paper and where the text.
Left align

Ctrl + R
All lines in the paragraph butt up against the left text margin.

Center align
Ctrl + E
All lines in the paragraph are centered between the left and right text margins.
Justify

All lines in the paragraph are expanded so they butt up against both the left and right text margins.

The easiest way to change paragraph alignment is to use the alignment buttons on the Formatting toolbar.

For existing paragraph to align, select the paragraph and choose a button from the toolbar.
Line and Paragraph Spacing:

Line space is the amount of vertical space between lines of text in a paragraph.
-
Paragraph space is the amount of space above or below a paragraph. Instead of pressing Enter multiple times to increase space between paragraphs, you can set a specific amount of space before or after paragraphs.

Indentation:

In word processing, the word indent is used to describe the distance or number of blank spaces used to separate a paragraph from the left or right margins.
-
An indent increases the distance between the side of a paragraph and the left or right margin, Indented paragraphs appear to have different margin settings.
-
Word provides a variety of indents to emphasize paragraphs in a document.
First line indent
A paragraph that has all lines but the first indented.
Hanging indent
specifying a negative indentation for the first line of each paragraph.

Select the text where you want to add the first line indent.
-
Click Home and then, in the Paragraph group, click the dialog box launcher to open the Paragraph dialog box.

On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select the First line.
Typefaces
-
A typeface is the collective name of a family of related fonts (such as Times New Roman).
-
Typefaces for languages that use different scripts than Latin (Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Devanagari etc.) are referred to as typefaces rather than fonts.
You can select typefaces from this drop-down button.

Typefaces often come as a family of typefaces, with individual typefaces there are 4 font style:

Multiple Columns

A table is a structure of vertical columns and horizontal rows with a cell at every intersection.

A Word table can contain as many as 63 columns but the number of rows is unlimited.

You can customize, set you value for the given page.

Check the box next to "Line between" to draw a divider. Doing so will place a visible line between your columns.

Click OK to apply your style.
Page Margins
-
A margin is a space between the text and the edge of your document.
-
By default, a new document's margins are set to Normal, which means it has a one-inch space between the text and each edge.
-
Depending on your needs, Word allows you to change your document's margin size.

To format page margins:
-
Select the Page Layout tab, then click the Margins command.
-
A drop-down menu will appear. Click the predefined margin size you want.
-
The margins of the document will change.

From the Page Layout tab, click Margins. Select Custom Margins... from the drop-down menu.

The Page Setup dialog box will appear.

Adjust the values for each margin, then click OK.
